The Sports Widow #14

Thursday, November 24th 2016

Good afternoon girls. My afternoon of bliss was shattered when His Highness returned home from The Gabba at 4.30 in a state I would describe as messy or happy hysteria or the better description – pissed. He could see the brief disappointment on my face and duly explained that I should be happy because “firstly I did not ring you to pick me up and secondly I bought you some flowers on the way home”. He then produced a bunch of half dead, second rate flowers with the Seven Eleven Logo on the plastic with a sale sign - $4 special today only. I said “thank you for not ringing me to pick you up because I have no doubt I would have had to pick you up at 2.30 – given it must have taken you 2 hours to walk the 2km home from The Gabba.” I then promptly threw the flowers in the bin.

I awoke early Sunday morning to go for a walk and was left with the usual animal noises coming from each exit of his body. I came home – showered and informed His Highness that it was a beautiful day and I was off to the coast. I received a grunt and went off to Main Beach – two hours at the beach, lunch at Shuck with my cousin Anna and then on my way home. It was a great day until I received a call at 3.30 from His Highness – “where are you? I need the car to get some food. I am giving up the grog for a month” he whimpered expecting some sympathy. I respond “unlikely” – I will be home in 45 mins – see you then.” Actually a great weekend.

Until next week sisters.
