The Sports Widow #13

Good afternoon girls. Just when I thought the sports frenzy was dying down after the Spring Carnival the worst of the worst has come upon me. Cricket, not just any cricket but Test cricket. My disdain for cricket is unparalleled – it would put a glass eye to sleep.In fact I would rather watch re runs of Seinfeld. The only saving grace is that The Australians are getting beaten with ease so not 5 days of torture. Then yesterday I got even worse news – an email from The K Man that the Australian Golf season starts today. What have I done to deserve this sports cyclone.

His Highness informed me he was going to a Shield Match at the Gabba on Saturday for the day. I replied (knowing full well it would be some sort of cricket) “is that some sort of medieval games and why would they have it at the Gabba?” His response was “pleeaaase”. He asked if I could drop him down there. I said “I will drive you to Timbuctoo if you are not going to be here all day Saturday”. I am looking forward to a relaxing day Saturday and I will let you know about the guaranteed shenanigans when he gets home Saturday night.
