The Sports Widow #10

Friday, October 21st 2016

Good afternoon girls. Apologies for the delay in this week’s Sports Widow. I had a week only surpassed by His Highness every week. Mud Crab Lunch on Wednesday at The Story Bridge then a Smart Pups Charity lunch at The Norman hosted by Andrew Ford. Tired, grumpy and worried about the weekend ahead. Yes, I am off to the track tomorrow with His Highness and no doubt some of his mates whom don’t bring their wives/partners. (for those of them who still have partners)

It has already started – I get home from my lunch late yesterday afternoon ready for an early night on the couch only to be trumped by His Highness. “The Diamonds are playing the Silver Ferns in the Constellation Cup final”. I respond “you can watch that on free to air in the spare bedroom”. He then responds “they are also night racing at Cranbourne and I have done the form – I will be cashed up for Saturday!!” Well - girls we all know what happens next – the usual “kick” and “that jockey is fuc.in hopeless” but even better was his feigned knowledge of netball. “Sharnie Layton might be better than Laura Geitz” he yells. Clearly he knows nothing about netball! Just because he had a selfie taken with Romelda Aitken at a charity lunch does not transfer to expert knowledge on the game!! If I was writing Brandos Bombs he would win Knob of the Week every week!!!

Until next week sisters.
