The BMW Championship this week will head to Crooked Stick this week which is famous for being the course John Daly broke through on to win the ’91 PGA. JD drover all night across many states the story goes, drunk, to get to the tournament as he was an alternate.
The last time the BMW was here was when Rory was on a great stretch of winning everything and he destroyed the course with -20.
So let me just say if John Daly and Rory have won here….it’s a donkey bombers course. So I wouldn’t back anyone who isn’t really long.
NB: the field has only 70 players so expect shorter odds than normal.

Top pick: After his win last week and previous form on this course Rory is a heavy favourite with the punters. However, someone else who shot the same score last week in the final round is Adam Scott. I think he found something in that final round and will carry on over to this week. Also this course is tree lined which will suit Scotty.

Mid Range Player: Someone who has been a feature in the last few weeks on the leaderboard has been Jason “The Big Rack” Kokrak. No I am not smoking Kokrak, he is one of the longest hitters on tour and friends who have played mini tours in the US say that he used to win on hard courses shooting 63 when the rest of the field wouldn’t break 70. Decent each way as well.

Roughie: Another player who has been finding form is former tour darling Sean O’Hair. He’s been in the wilderness the last few years but he is a serious talent. He normally putts about as well as Brando on a Friday night but in the last few weeks he has found his putter which makes him a danger. He has the length and accuracy required for this course
