My tip from last week (Larrikin) got scratched but it is still in for the Derby so will watch it over the coming weeks.

This week I’m going for Melbourne Race 2 No 1 Sign Off

Dropping back in grade from the Group2 Dato Tim Tam China Man Stakes and gets to his distance where he is 2 starts for a win and a second…the second being in the Group 2 Herbert Power.  He then went on to run 4th in the Melbourne Cup.

His rating of 107 compares to 88 for the favourite in the race – Black Tomahawk.  That certainly means Signoff carries more weight (60kgs versus 54kgs)….but Signoff is a massive horse and carries weight easily.

He’s third up in the Autumn he won the Lord Reims Group 3 in Adelaide over 2600m by 6.5 Lengths.

Also trained by Darren Weir which generally means it wins as well.
