BRANDOS BOMBS #010

Friday, October 21st 2016

Good afternoon Bombers – The weekend of sport and racing just gone was a cracker. The Kangaroos home easily against a lacklustre Kiwi side. Jameka smashed them in The Caulfield Cup and I tipped a few winners!! Last night The Mighty Diamonds beat the Silver Ferns to win the Constellation Cup series. I was all over that – don’t listen to The Sports Widow – she was a bit tired from a couple of lunches. Anyway – this weekend is a ball tearer of a weekend in sport and racing. The V8 Supercars have hit the glitter strip and I emphasize strip because it is a lucrative weekend for Strippers and their more salubrious cousins (we all know what I mean) from balconies all around the track. The All Blacks host The Wallabies in Auckland. The Horse racing is sublime. Moonee Valley tonight with The Manikato Stakes and tomorrow The Australasian Weight for Age Championship – The Cox Plate. The A League continues – and the much awaited rematch in the Swedish Bandy Comp sees the Villa Lidkoping take on The Sandvikens. To quote the astute and learned George Costanza – “It is the Summer of George” or more likely “the weekend of Brando”. Here we go:

BOG

BOG of the week #02 is none other than All Blacks legend - Sir Richie McCaw. As much as I yelled at you to stay onside during any game you played, sneered at you when we scored a try against you and cheered when you finally got yellow carded – after watching your movie Chasing Great I applaud your manner and your work ethic. You came across as a humble sports superstar with a drive to be a winner. All kids should watch this movie. So Richie you are Brandos Bombs BOG of the week #02. Your mini Bledisloe Cup is in the mail.

Knob of the Week #010

Wow – tough week on this – there were some sportsmen across the Globe really vying for this title. Hawthorne Footy Club in trading out their Best and Fairest and #2 in the B & F amongst many others however I will stick with V8 Supercars theme. Jamie Whincup you are Brandos Bombs Knob of the Week #010. Firstly, you don’t believe you should have received a 15 second penalty for taking out two other cars - you then appeal. You then go to your Facebook page and bag the head of Motor Racing and justify your position. Mate – if you were a jockey you would be suspended for 2 months and not racing this weekend. Your Hot Wheels toy VW is in the mail – you knob.

Pedro the Swift

Pedro, another Black Booker in Our Ivanhowe – a great Mackinnon Stakes trial!! We all need these horses to follow going into the Flemington Carnival. Pedro is again on focus for the Cox Plate tomorrow – Pedro is a value punter – hence why no return BUT we are coming into the money time of the carnival. Pedro likes Lucia Valentina tomorrow in the plate. With rain around – Lucia loves the wet. PalmerBet have Lucia Valentina at $19 fixed odds. C’mon Uncle Huey make it rain!!

1.      NRL Four Nations

It is great work between Mal Meninga and his former coach and mentor (at Souths Magpies, Oxley Police Academy & Raiders) to promote the Rugby League. I would like to check the texts between them. Wayne “I will tell the media I want to coach the Kangaroos again and Mal, you ring Newscorp and say he aint getting it. Then I will rebuff it and create interest in the whole tourney.” Good work boys but Brando has found you out!!

2.      Football (most call it Soccer)

Tim Cahill scored a ripper as predicted – The Roar were hopeless and old mate Aloisi will have them on fire – so I have been informed by my soccer “blue horseshoe.” The focus on QLD – too bad if you are not a Queenslander – tough luck. Roar are being hosted by the Central Coast Mariners. C’mon The Roar. Markets supplied by PalmerBet:

 Mariners         $4.33

 The Roar        $1.73

 Draw              $4

3.      Rugby Union

This is a money grabber for the ARU. All Blacks host The Wallabies at Eden Park tomorrow afternoon at 4.35pm. Tape it is my view – races are a lot more interesting. Wallabies have not won at Eden Park for 30 years. So I am doing a “Costanza.” Wallabies by 2 points. So if I were a Sports360° Bomber do the reverse Costanza???? Markets supplied by PalmerBet:

All Blacks        $1.06

Wallabies       $9

Line at $1.9 is 22.5 points

4.      US Sports

As I say follow The Duke in NFL and the upcoming World Series (loose term) in the MLB aka Us Baseball. Go to http://www.sports360.com.au/post/The-Duke-943

5.      Racing

Tonight and tomorrow at Moonee Valley – what superb back to back meetings. Manikato tonight and the Cox Plate tomorrow plus a few other excellent races at The Valley. Ok – Winx v Hartnell – very hard to line up but I will go with the better priced Hartnell. John O’Shea has started to work out his massive team – so I am on Hartnell. Tonight the talk is all about Chautaqua – what about the others – tough call – Chautaqua is a super sprinter but I am on Fell Swoop. Randwick and Eagle Farm tomorrow. Let’s give it a whirl.

Markets supplied by Palmerbet:

Moonee Valley Tonight

Best Bet:          Race 1 No 2 Conchita
Best Roughie:    Race 7 No 8 Fell Swoop
